Invisible 2: Chasing the Ghost Sound (2010)

Geum Ja has been living alone since her husband and sister passed away. Lately, she keeps hearing her late sister’s voice around the house. To find out her sister’s message, she enlists the help of a television program that investigates supernatural happenings. Once the TV crew is there, however, the ghostly sounds disappear, and conflicts develop between Geum Ja and the crew. Just when the crew is about to pack up and leave, they record a woman’s voice.

Author Stephen King discusses the various types of horror films and why they are so popular with moviegoers.

The third film in Turner Classic Movies "A Night at the Movies" series takes a look at the horror films that influenced Stephen King and the ones that scared him. This is basically a sixty-minute interview with the legendary author as he discusses what he feels works in the genre as well as where he thinks the genre has gone wrong. He states that the first film that truly scared him was BAMBI and then he relives the experiences of seeing movies like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, PSYCHO as well as the terror he had going into THE EXORCIST. Many of the famous films are discussed but King also talks about some of the more laughed at entries into the genre like ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES, I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF and ATTACK OF THE 50FT. WOMAN. One of the most interesting parts of the documentary happens towards the end when King talks about some of his books that were adapted into movies. He talks about a pre-release screening he had of CARRIE and also talks about MISERY and how he felt that Dee Wallace Stone was better in CUJO and deserves more credit for her work. Of course, if King is discussing his own movies then you expect him to discuss his somewhat hatred of THE SHINING. King shares his opinions on the movie and why he and Stanley Kubrick had such a different opinion on what the story was really about. This documentary pretty much covers everything from the silents to the slasher period and up to today's torture porn. Fans of the genre will enjoy hearing some of their favorite films discussed and I'm sure fans of King are going to enjoy him sharing all these personal stories. This third entry in the series is certainly a major step up from the previous two but once again this film really doesn't seem to have any direction going on as the way the stories are told are all over the place and one wishes that it had followed some sort of order.

The Wall-G setup projects videos onto the Diver City Tokyo shopping complex's outer wall, where it becomes an animated backdrop to the life-size Gundam statue.

The short begins when an Anaheim Electronics-manufacture Sinanju Stein unit, stolen and now affiliated with the Neo Zeon unit Sleeves, bursts through the Earth's stratosphere. The Unicorn takes off from the Nahel Argama and moves to intercept. While it engages with the Sinanju Stein, the Banshee Norn and Phenex are moving to assist.

The secret society blazed briefly in the headlines in 2001 when members announced plans to make their own pornographic film on campus starring other Yale students, although the film was never released or even completed. Nevertheless, a fictionalized version of the club's experiences was produced as a TV movie titled Porn 'n Chicken and broadcast on Comedy Central. Without question this stands as one of the most original, outrageously inventive horror films in recent memory. It is at once a comment on horror/sci fi, low budget films from the past twenty years and a hilarious send up of the genres tired ideas and brainless audience. Nothing is sacred to the makers of this film and they seem smart enough to carry that stance off beautifully. The best scene is definitely the animated sequence which is so surreal and glitteringly brilliant it beggars description. I would like to contact the makers of the film to see what is next. Will this be distributed?

Jess Franco's version of the Bram Stoker classic has Count Dracula as an old man who grows younger whenever he dines on the blood of young maidens.
Despite some relatively poor production values, this film has the requisite quality of "creepiness" that any good Dracula film really should have. Kinski is fine. This is also Christopher Lee's most accurate performance as the Count. Too bad the editing is so jumpy. It's almost like watching a documentary, or an antique silent film (but with sound). If they had just invested a little more money, this could have become "the" authentic film adaptation of the novel. As it stands, it is only for real devotees of the genre.

On the run and hiding in the deep forests of the then German-occupied Poland and Belorussia (World War II), the four Bielski brothers find the impossible task of foraging for food and weapons for their survival. They live, not only with the fear of discovery, contending with neighboring Soviet partisans and knowing whom to trust but also take the responsibility of looking after a large mass of fleeing Polish Jews from the German war machine. A planet is discovered in the same orbit as Earth's but is located on the exact opposite side of the sun, making it not visible from Earth. The European Space Exploration Council decide to send American astronaut Glenn Ross and British scientist John Kane via spaceship to explore the other planet. This is not a good movie. It is a horror movie. It is not scary. I do not understand the character. I do not like this movie at all. It does not have I good story line. Do not see it this movie.

Abymssal crapfest or dumb. Why did the superb 1980s cult classic starring Goldie & Kurt even need a remake? You can't capture the 80s or the chemistry of Goldie & Kurt and you can't do this type of film do it in today's environment. It wouldn't even work.... And why choose terrible actors if you're gonna do a remake? Ugh. Everything about this is just 'no.'

A veteran detective receives a special request from the parents of a missing child to investigate her case. As the clever kidnapper eludes the police, the case becomes more and more of a mystery. When a fortuneteller foretells the child's whereabouts, people get to listen to what he says. He also tells that the detective is the only one who can save her. With no one to trust, the two come closing in around the kidnapper using any means possible.
